Overview
Problem:
Things go missing.
- They are either taken improperly, or they are simply misplaced.
- Lost or stolen items can fall into the wrong hands and be misused to someone's detriment.
- The longer that missing items are able to operate the more likely they will be misused.
- You want to make sure the missing item is not used.
Mitigation:
- Render the missing item unuseable.
- Recover it if possible.
tSecure® can solve this problem for electronic and electronically
controlled equipment.
- The owner of the missing item is able to quickly and easily disable it (remotely) to prevent unauthorized use.
- As part of the disabling function, an owner can cause data or sensitive components to be destroyed
- t-secure is not dependant on the internet so no there are no user connectivity issues.
- t-secure can operate virtually any where in the world, so no matter where the item
is located geographically, it can be remotely protected.
Stories:
In July of 2004, 6 laptops containing sensitive security information for airport
screeners went missing from a hotel near Seattle-Tacoma International Airport.
While the laptops contained information used to train TSA screeners and not
necessarily a threat to the security of the nation, it was reported as a breach of
national security so that the FBI would get involved.
Since 2000 there have been several data related security breaches at Los
Alamos National Laboratory related to laptops and hard drives. Los Alamos
is the home on much of the nations nuclear and energy related research.
In 2005 and again in December of 2006, a laptop containing personal information of
328,000 current and former Boeing employees went missing.
The tSecure™ technology could have been used significantly mitigate the risk that came
about as a result of these situations.
tSecure is designed to be an integral part of the equipment it protects,
this means it is usually built in during the manufacturing process.
tSecure was conceived to enable an owner to render any equipment in which tSecure is installed
virtually useless should it be discovered stolen, lost or misplaced. Because tSecure
is activated via an RF (e.g. paging signal) broadcast, protection can be virtually global. RF messages can be repeated so insure receipt.

In summary, tSecure provides:
- Initial sequence security validation (validation at start-up)
- Passive control of assets
- Discouragement of theft
- Increased odds of recovery in the event of theft
- Increased data protection
- Reactivation when appropriate

tSecure is envisioned to have a broad range of applicability,
from laptop computers to military devices or specialized communications equipment
containing some form of POST processing.
